I figure everyone's pretty sick and tired of looking at my torn apart kitchen, but they way i see it, a dumb post is better than no post at all. So here's our update. This is what our floor looked like when I got home from work on Friday! Scary pit into the cellar.
Jerome was pretty exhausted, but he finished pulling up the floor before he quit, so by Friday night we had no floor at all.
Saturday my mom and dad came to save the day!!! They went shopping at home depot with us and helped put in new joists! Don't they look beautiful!! By the time they left we had a new floor! They are incredible to come help us out so much! We COULD NOT have done it on our own. We are extremely grateful to them!
This is our pretty subfloor. They glued and nailed it down.
This is what it looks like today! My mom and I screwed all that cement board down! I sat down to do it all and i'll tell ya, I have the sorest butt on the planet! I have muscles that hurt that i didn't know i had! They were so awesome to help us do all of this. Today we are going to start the framing process and pick up all our tile. Its coming along really quickly thanks to all the help we're getting! We'll be back in business in no time!

Oh wow! you guys got lots done! Good for you! I agree with you, what would we do with out Bob and Maida? I can't count how many times they saved the day for us. Not to mention your dad just gets down to business, and he helps Kory figure the stuff out that overwhelms him so much. But your floors look awesome! Good luck with the tile!
Yeah, they raise productivity by 500%. And I don't get overwhelmed, But that's a sexy picture of Jerome.
That looks like it has the potential to be great. I would say it looks great now, because I'm anxiously awaiting the finished project; so I can be so completely envious.
Um, did that make any sense?
That was not a dumb post - I love seeing the progress - you guys are crazy for doing all that!! Good Luck - BTW how are you living without a kitchen??? Good Luck with it all :)
Yeah, it's disheartening enough to see the same old picture when you check someone's blog, but to have it be such a yucky picture just made it so much more sad. And I won't spill your secrets on how you're living without a kitchen.
You should have called us! Jerome looks so tough in that picture.
