FeELiN BeEfY

This is our beautiful new freezer that we got for Christmas from Don & Kristi:

This is said freezer full of the beef we won! All that on top is ground beef, underneath all that is the steaks, ribs and roasts. We wont be going hungry for a long time.

Picking up the beef was a less than a good experience. We went to Circle Meats in Spanish Fork, pretty much a house with a packing place in the back. I just about died. We walk in and there's this big clear window where you can see people working, there was a lady with blood all over her sleeves. I hadn't eaten lunch yet, so a little acid came up when i saw her. Then this guy in all white comes out with blood all over his apron and i about lost my breakfast. I had to go sit out in the car and not move my head. Then i started thinking that what if this is a shady meat packing place and its really human meat and all these gross thoughts came into my head. I blame it all on heroes by the way. Then they dumped all the meat in the back of our car. Not sure i can eat that meat for a few more days, i get pretty queasy just thinking about it.
For the record, i didn't used to be such a big wuss. When we had our cow in the 4th grade or something, they killed him in our backyard and we all watched it, it was sad, not gross. But after i got married Jerome fell and needed stitches. They were sitting there stitching up Jerome's hand and i'm the one who passed out. I am major weak sauce now. Can't wait until I'm alone with Story one day and she needs stitches and i pass out in the car on the way to the hospital...

Bug was pretty tired Christmas morning, but we woke her up anyway...

She wasn't sure what to do with a wrapped present.

She liked her new toys though. :)

Her dad covered her in blocks. :)

Jerome and i were there too...

This is the robot that i sewed for Jerome! He was very surprised and liked it a lot, Story carried it around in her teeth most the day.

After Christmas, Story spent most of her time doing this:

She plays hard & is very good at being lazy, just like her dad.

LoNg WeEkeNd

This weekend was slightly miserable, but i did a lot of projects. I'm nearly done sewing Christmas presents and i made this calendar with a magnet board and my Cricut:

The top is a dinner chart, i haven't decided how to do the meals yet. The bottom is a calendar, all the numbers and the months are magnetic, so i can change it up every month. The special days are magnetic too, like the cupcake on the third for Story's birthday and the Tree for Christmas, etc.
Jerome comes home today!!! He left Reno this morning at 9. Can't wait to see him. He took first place at the robot competition! He went undefeated against 4 other bots. So proud. He got the gold medal. i'll have to post all his pictures and try and get the videos on the computer some how. Anyway, i survived the weekend. I still have a lot of sewing to do on the Christmas presents, what a pain in the butt. :)
4 more days!!

Our family went to Jerome's work Christmas party last night. He told me a while ago that they give away 4 quarters of a cow at the party in a raffle. Since then i've been determined to win one! I've been sending out good thoughts for weeks! Then all day yesterday i thought about it and just knew i was destined to win! At lunch i got a fortune cookie and inside that cookie it said, "Be prepared to receive something special in a large package." After that i had NO DOUBT in my mind that that cow was mine! So we went to the party and our raffle ticket won us that screw driver below, and the bingo game we played we won a tape measure set (that kept story entertained for a while) and we won that LED flashlight, its huge and awesome!

And if you're wondering what that little white envelope says....

WE WON A QUARTER OF A COW!!! At the very end of the night they started the second ticket raffle and the first thing they held up was the first quarter of a cow and they called out number 593! I raised my arms and screamed! Jerome looked at me and said, that's not our number. oh my gosh. i said, "oh yes it is!" The other 3 people weren't as enthused as I was about my 140lbs of meat. I may have gone a little overboard, but hey, I'm excited and I just know that it was my good thoughts that won us that cow!

My little one-year-old. We took her to her 12 month appointment last week and she's doing so good! She's nearly 25 pounds, putting her in the 93rd percentile. She's 31" tall, putting her in the 97th percentile! The nurse asked us, "Is she just a big girl?" Why yes, yes she is. :) The doc said she's very advanced for her age, 3 months ahead with walking, which means Syd's like 6 months ahead! Way to go girls! Story is starting to thin out and turn into a little girl, she's finally growing some hair now too. Anyway, we've got a growing girl on our hands!

SaNtA's CoMiNg!

Im pretty excited about Santa coming in 17 days. Story likes our tree, a little too much. I count to one-two-trouble and she backs off of it. its pretty funny. When she's really tired she cries when i count at her. The first time i showed her the tree was pretty funny. I got it all set up during nap time (not hard to do when your tree is 3 feet tall) and her face just glazed over and she stared at the lights for a long time. It was kinda cute.
I've been a busy bee making a couple presents here and there. Jerome's finishing up his robot, he leaves a week from Friday to go to San Francisco to fight "HOT STUFF" (a flame throwing robot-he let me name it). He's taking his dad this time, because Story and I just hold him back. :) He'll be gone for a couple days. He's never left us before so I'm a little nervous. He'll do good and he'll have fun with his dad. Me and Story will stay busy, so it doesn't seem as long.
Story's new phrase is "uh-oh". Its pretty funny. She also likes to say "up" and "boo". She's getting a little less stumbly at walking and only smashes her fingers in all our drawers about once a week. That's a lot better than a month ago.
Anyway, we're nearly ready for Christmas, we have a couple more things to pick up here and there, but practically done. I'm mostly excited, because i get a 5 day weekend when Christmas comes! 23-27!! Wahoo! Anyway, Happy 17 days until Christmas everyone!

ThE BiRtHdAy

Story blew out her first candle yesterday. I went way overboard with the decorations, but i couldn't help it. i had fun. Plus you only turn 1 once!

YUM!

I had a friend at work's neighbor make the cake for me. No one ate the top, but it was WAY better than the bottom. I made lots of garlands for the party and made everything pink and orange. Everything has to have a color palette right? :)

I filled the front door with pictures of Story.

I made little popcorn boxes and filled them with taffy. We still have half of them unfortunately.

She wasn't very interested in her presents, not even the wrapping paper. That is until we opened some backyardigans from grandma and grandpa. :) Then she had to examine what episodes were on there.

Happy Birthday Story!

HAPpEe BuRfDeE

Today is bittersweet. Today my little pee wee turns 1. She came into our lives 1 year ago today and turned it upside down.
Story is walking around so good, still stumbling, but doing great. She loves Backyardigans and is growing like a weed (except her hair). She is a very funny girl. When she's tired at night she gets cuddly and i love it. The rest of the day she is far too busy and has too much on her plate to stop and cuddle. She loves apple sauce, playing with her cousin Ray, and having pillow fights with her daddy. Im sad, but very excited to see her turn 1. She's a big girl and we love her so much.
Happy Birthday Story!!!

And i can't forget a shout out to Rainey. Story came on her aunt's birthday, but she's so excited to be birthday twinners with her aunt. Happy birthday to you both!
