Part two is all about the GO CAR! We rented this little scoot scoot car to go around San Fransisco. We rented it for 3 hours. It has a GPS inside of it and tells you where to go and stories about the city as you drive around. It was really fun and quite neat to see the city we're always going to in a totally different way. It BARELY made it up some of those steep hills. We were sure one of us would have to jump out on some of the hills. People honked at us a lot.
They made you wear these dorky helmets the whole time. It was super cold and my ears were freezing, so i wore my hoodie. The tour gave the option of "city" tour or "country" tour. We chose the country tour, because it was a little less stressful and we thought we'd get honked at less. The little cars only go 35 mph and only 5-10 uphill. It was kind of hard to drive and REALLY hard to brake. It felt like all my nightmares where you can't slow the car down fast enough. We went down that really twisty hill (Lombard street) and it took both of us to hold the brakes down. People took lots of pictures of us.... i hate that.
It took us to a lot of beaches and down under the Golden Gate Bridge. The picture above looked like the edge of the world, it was really neat.
The little car told us that the building behind us (above) was there before the Golden Gate Bridge was built, so they built a special arch above the building, so they didn't have to knock it down. Jerome thought that was really interesting. Me, not so much.
Next the car took us to these old buildings that used to have giant cannons on them to fight the oncoming ships way back when. I thought these were pretty cool.
It took us through an intersection in the middle of town and said that a famous San Fransisco serial killer shot his last victim there. Then it told us the history on the guy. It was pretty neat.
The car took us to these super old windmills that had pretty flowers everywhere around them. It took us past some neat buildings. Even one that built from a mail-order kit. Then randomly in the middle of Golden Gate Park there were buffalos. And of course people on the street trying to make some money by painting themselves silver and gold. There was a really cool street performer that i got a video of that played drums on all sorts of pots and garbage cans. He was really really good. I was impressed and gave him a couple bucks. Okay, i made Jerome give it to him. Don't worry, part III will actually be about the robot contest. I'll post it in a couple days.

That is fantastic! I am glad you told the story on here because I saw it on your fb but had just assumed you guys were at like a trafalga type place. That is radical you drove around SF in that! FANTASTIC even, it reminds me of you battle bot hot wheels car you made that one year :)
Keep em coming! I can't wait to read part 3, I have checked your blog everyday fyi for part 2
I can not imagine doing that with Kyle. He would be so stressed out. And I swear I have that brakes dream at least twice a month. Your trip sounded so fun. I hope ours is half as fun this week.
That's a really cool idea. I tried that with a regular gps out there going to 'points of interest' and ended up in a bunch of lame parking lots that weren't near anything cool.
That looks like such a fun little car to cruise around in. I've nevery heard of or seen one of those. I bet that was a blast!
I'm wearing my Green Lantern t-shirt as I type this. Great minds, and all that, you know. I think that car thing was a great idea...but I'd be way too scared to do it, I think. I'd be a lot more comfortable in a real car--behind glass. With more materials between me and others driving in the same vicinity. ;)
And, I love how you guys went to all those different places. I am convinced that Jeff and I need to seriously get out of our comfort zones.
