Bored Out of My Gourd

Saturday Morning i was SO Bored! Jerome said, "you need to start a project before you drive me crazy". So, i googled "sewing for baby boys" thinking i'd find a cute hat or something to make that day. Instead i found a little play mat/jungle gym thing. After spending like ten years at the fabric store deciding on what fabrics to use and after 2 days of sewing, we have this:

Sewing circles like that is WAY harder than it looks. It doesn't look very good in person, but i did my darndest.

There's loops all over it to hang toys for him to play with.

Thankfully we already had pool noodles for the top, because its not exactly swimming season, they might be hard to find. Jerome and I had a BLAST pulling the fabric over them. It only took an hour! Lets just say its a tight fit!

And i just thought this picture was cute. Every time she puts a hat on she says, "hey cowboy!" She also pronounces Kelli's name "cowboy". She can say "Stowee" for Story, but Kory's name is still pronounced "ko-kur". Don't ask.

Wow! That is SO cool. I love it. That is Felix's favorite thing right now. He's actually playing with it right this second. He spends hours under his (thank you to Amy for lending it to us!)

That is soo much better than the one I bought for Axel! I am so impressed, and think it turned out pretty darn cute. I am jealous of your sewing motivation. Can you bottle some of that up and send it to my house tomorrow, I have a present I need to sew for a certain miss and I just can't get the ummph (if that is the right word) to get it done.

Kass, I LOVE the jungle gym. Aside from your ability to make things look like they're supposed to (my biggest challenge with sewing!), you have a fantastic eye for fabrics... So so cute.

P.s. Thanks for your sweet, encouraging comment about labor. I like hearing "you can do it!" stories :)

Thats awesome. Was it cheaper than buying one? Sometimes when I do projects it ends up being more expensive than it I bought one. But seriously that thing is frickin awesome!! GOOD JOB!!
