Robo Games 2010

We went to RoboGames this weekend as a family in San Fransisco. We drove out Thursday and drove home on Monday morning. Story was a very very good girl on the way out, slept almost the whole drive and was a really good sport about being stuck in her car seat. Friday, Saturday and Sunday she was mostly confined to her pack and play with backyardigans going to keep her somewhat entertained. She was AMAZINGLY well behaved the first two days. i couldn't believe how good she was. We would get up and run around outside every now and then and eat snacks and play. I think about twenty people have me on film with Story, everyone thought it was hilarious that there was a "day care" corner, someone else had a pack n play set up next to me with their 6 month old in it.

Sunday was a different Story, but really who can blame her? That's a lot of days to be stuck in a pack and play when you're 1 years old and need to run around and climb things. We spent a lot of time outside that day running around picking flowers. She did so good considering.

Unfortunately Story and I were put right next to team butt crack. The guy on the right had the same problem, i guess they forgot to pack underwear. The last day that guy in the middle must have found a pair at the bottom of his bag, because he was sporting some hawaiian print boxers, that fortunately managed to cover up about half the crack. With that much crack hanging out, he must have felt a draft, maybe he just didn't care....

I took this picture for PROOF that some of these guys really do build their own girlfriends. The front of her had a camera with a screen on it. The bra still had the price tag on it, guess he's planning on returning it this week.

I couldn't help take a picture of this guy, i couldn't get him to turn around to get a good picture, but he's grant from Mythbusters, he sat and watched one of Jerome's matches and then left. He is the guy who invented the energizer bunny.

That kid is Jerome's biggest fan aside from me and Story. Me and Story got up to the arena to watch the fight and this kid pushed me out of the way, practically sat on Story and stood right in front of us to film Jerome's fight. He filmed ALL of Jerome's fights and when he would mess up he would yell, "Come on Jerome!! What are you doing?" He's one step below stalker... Jerome's quite the celebrity at these things.

This picture above is more beautiful that you think. "Big B" won last year's contest, so it was pretty awesome that Jerome picked this robot up and slammed him over the side and won. Me and Story were standing like 3 feet away from where he slammed it in, scared Story to death!

Its hard to see this picture, the arena is made out of bullet proof glass and it has lots of scratches on it, so pictures dont come out very good. But that is Jerome's robot picking up another robot with his little grabber arm. Jerome did that a bunch of times during this contest, he did really well this year with his grabber arm.

This little one had a rough Sunday and didn't nap the entire day, but finally passed out right before the last fight at 9pm. I laid her down and turned around to grab something and she was out!! I got one of the other robot wives to watch her while i watched Jerome's last fight.

After all was said and done Jerome took home the bronze! Way to go Jerome!!
