That would be Melissa and Gabe in the back ground. We went fishing yesterday.

I've had 2 complete strangers tell me how big my baby is this weekend. :0) That's okay, that's the way i like em!

She really is getting big though. She's so close to crawling, i can taste it! She's also got a wicked cold, cough included. We've been spraying medicine up her nose the last couple days, she such a good sport about it, she holds still and doesn't cry.

I just liked this picture, so i thought i'd include it.

Now to the point of my post. Little miss is obsessed with Backyardigans, as much as a 7 month old can be obsessed about anything. I downloaded the song to my phone and every time i play it she looks for the tv and is not amused when she realizes its just my phone. Anyway, every time i turn Backyardigans on she starts dancing. She subtly shakes her booty. I caught it on film and at the end she gets a little embarrassed or something and stops. Sorry its sideways, i can't figure out how to flip it and i forgot while recording that i shouldn't record that way.

We went fishing yesterday, the first of the summer season! We brought Matthew and Andy with us. 

We caught 2 fish, but gave one away to some guy who traded us for bread, so that the boys could feed the ducks.

We were hoping we would catch more, but no luck. Andy kept asking, "excuse me? can we catch more fish please?" Matthew reeled in the biggest one.

Story was a pretty good sport until she pooped, then it was time to go home. We gutted the fish and gave it to Andy, so he could show shauna and "cook it in the microwave." :) luckily he changed his mind and wants to cook it on the BBQ tonight.

This is my cock-eyed cockatoo. She woke up with a swollen eye, not sure what happened. I'm thinking its cold related, because she's got more boogars than a river has water as well. She fell asleep in the car and got some crazy cockatoo hair too. She's still not getting better, i'm thinking we are going to have little teeth pop up soon. have i told you i hate teething?

So here's the rest of our trip!

I look oober gross in that picture, but we went to the Golden Gate bridge on Sunday wearing our twinner shirts (how embarassing).

This was right outside of where Robot Wars was being held. You stepped 2 steps away from Jerome's pit table and you were outside and could see Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge. I don't think any of the nerds noticed, but for the few wives that were there, we enjoyed it. :)

This is the snail car. (and a half of a boat sticking out of the wall behind it...wtf?) The snail car was really interesting, it was like 10 feet tall or something. The people that came with the car were even more interesting. The car was made from a VW bug. The people that came with the car were part of some company where you could rent them to set the mood for your party. They came to robot wars on Friday and served free beer. They didn't know what to do when i asked them for water. the he/she i was talking to said, "we have tonic water..." uh, no thanks. i said, "how much do i owe you" (after they had found some bottled water) and the once a man, now a girl individual said, "we only work on tips honey!" it was pretty awesome.

Story came down to the robot wars on Friday. She was a little terror. Julie (Jerome's mom) and David (Jerome's Uncle) came down that day too. That was the day of Jerome's first fight.

This was another one of those rare moments when she wasn't mad.

My attempt to keep her binki in. :) She actually fell asleep for part of it, but when two of the robots banged together she was awake again.

She apparently had a very exhausting day and passed out in grampa's chair. :)

Originally i wasn't planning on going with Jerome to this robot thing, but Grampa said he might not be around next year and just had to meet Story. Somewhere we have a picture of Jerome as a baby on Grampa's lap in his chair.

Grandma whipped out a quilt for Story while we were there. I'm so glad to have it, because its a big one and Story has just about out grown all her blankets.

We did a bunch of shopping on pier 39 and i got these awesome salt and pepper shakers!!! I seriously love them so much!

And of course i got Story lots of presents. i got her this alcatraz onsie and that pink cow which she is totally in love with. Move over Tyrone! We've got shelly the cow now.

Overall we had a really fun trip, it was full of compromise for me and Jerome. He hates shopping and i wasn't a huge fan of sitting there while he fixed his robot after each match. We were both pretty good sports about it though. We are glad to be home though!

robot wars! part one

So we're doing this in 2 parts. Today is the robot part, in a couple days will be everything else. So here we are at Jerome's pit station where he fixes his robot after each fight. Those were the shirts that i made for the competition.

yay for badges! this was the first day we were there. we got there really early.

Taking in the bot! the foam noodle was on there for safety. it was required to be on all blades or sharp edges...

This was the arena. On Saturday and Sunday the place was wall to wall people. Totally sold out, people were crowded around the arena on all four sides, you could barely wedge yourself in to watch! I guess its pretty big out there to go see robot wars every year.

This was after Jerome's third fight, he lost this one.

So Jerome's first fight was Friday morning. The guy he was supposed to fight didn't show, so he got an automatic win. His second fight was Friday night and he won! He actually picked the other robot up by its wheel and carried it around. I'll have to get a video uploaded soon, it was actually really funny. He did a great job! Even Story got to see it, she's pretty terrified of his robot. 

Jerome lost his 3rd fight, but it was double elimination. He won his fourth fight! So his fifth fight was for the bronze, but he lost. One of his wheels quit moving, so it was really hard to drive. He only lost by 3 points. Huge bummer, he really wanted to get a prize. They were these clear things that said "Robot Wars" and they glowed, bronze, silver and gold. Really cool. He got 4th place though! I am so proud of him! He did so good! He won against Brazil and their robot was really mean, he did a great job!

This is the front of his robot, the little fork things that scooped up the other robots. The first picture is after the first real fight, the second picture was after he fought "The Big B" and the third picture is after he fought Brazil! He had to hammer them back down and grind them smooth. Overall his robot held up so good!

This is the guy that won the whole competition, his robot was "The big B". He was our 2nd fight.

And of course R2D2 was there. He actually was running around on Sunday.

We got back last night around 9:45. It was a lot of fun. I will tell you about the rest of our trip in a couple days! I actually got to do a lot of things thanks to Jerome's mom, Julie. She stayed and watched Story every day. We are seriously so grateful for her. We would have been miserable without her. We took Story on Friday and she was such a stinker the whole time. So thanks to Julie! We had so much fun and Jerome did so good! I got video of all his fights, i'll put up some highlights soon.

aLmOsT tHeRE!

2 days to go! We're leaving Wednesday and the robot is on its way. He still has a few kinks to work out, but it should be finished soon! I'll be sure to take lots of video of his matches while we're there. i am very nervous to take Story on this trip, because she is sick now! i am praying she somehow gets better before we leave. She has a bad cold and cries all night instead of sleeps. Last night was super fun. i am completely wiped out and hardly functional. I am nervous to take her anyway, i'm thinking that 12 hour drives and 6 month olds don't mix. we shall see!

As much as i really like the little boy clothes they have out now with robots and t-rex... i am really loving tutus and bows!

6 MoNtHs & FaBuLoUs!!

Little ms. Story is 6 months old on Wednesday!! I seriously can't believe it! Doesn't seem that long ago that i was waiting for her to come. We went to the Dr. on Friday and chunky monkey weighs 19.33lbs and is 26.5" tall! She is over the 95th percentile in all aspects. That's my girl! :)

We went and took pictures yesterday for her 6th month mark.

We got a ton of tongue pictures.

Like i said, lots of tongue pictures.

We had a good Sunday yesterday.

Story got to try creamies. She got a few good licks in and was super super sticky!! She kept opening her mouth and diving at everyone with creamies in their hands. :)
